How Big is Your Future?

on Friday, May 27, 2011

“How big do you think your future is?”
"Probably not so big. Average. Ordinary.”

Is this how you would answer too? If so, it is the wrong answer.

Your future is huge. It is large. It is extraordinary.

If you believe this, two things will happen:

(a) more will be accomplished through your life--more people will be helped and saved; and,

(b) you will know God more and know Him better.

There is no other way to describe it. You are destined to rule with Jesus and be an heir to His Kingdom (Revelation 3:21). Think about it. If God made you a primarily spiritual being, like an angel is a spiritual being, if God made you eternal like an angel is eternal, then God has plans for you that are superior to that even of angels because 1 Corinthians 6:3 says, "Do you not know we will judge angels?

How much more the things of this life!" Jesus, the Son of God died for you. If someone was willing to do that, your life must be pretty valuable. Your life is valuable to God.

Because these things are absolutely true—more true and eternal than anything we know to be true on this Earth…..it makes no sense for us to think we will have an ordinary or average future. Therefore, enter into the throne room boldly, and ask for what He wants to give you. You are His child. He wants to give you the *best* things.

To have a big future does not mean you are in the newspapers every morning. It means that you know God and He is doing things of great spiritual significance through you.

*Dear God, help me overcome my self-doubt and self-preoccupation. Instead, let me surrender to You Holy Spirit, and be a vessel filled with the good things of God. I agree to trust You. In Jesus' Name. Amen.
